Caroline Keane is one of the leading voices in contemporary concertina playing, blending the living tradition of Irish music with a bold, expressive modern voice. Rooted in the Gaeltacht of West Kerry, her work spans international performance, composition, and education, championing tradition as a vibrant, evolving art form.
Known for her vibrant, emotive, and highly expressive style, she blends the rich heritage of Irish traditional music with a bold contemporary voice.
She has toured extensively across Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand, appearing at major international festivals including Celtic Connections (UK), Celtic Colours (Canada), the Dublin Irish Festival (USA), and the Woodford Folk Festival (Australia). Caroline has collaborated and shared stages with The Chieftains, Andy Irvine, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh, Gerry O’Beirne, Steve Cooney, and Dermot Byrne.
A graduate of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (University of Limerick), she is a prolific composer and member of FOURWINDS, whose 2024 release Allta received critical acclaim. Her solo and collaborative recordings have earned international recognition, including an RTÉ Folk Award nomination.
